SCHOOL PROFILE
Liberty Middle is the second school built with a half-cent sales tax approved by voters back in 2004. The $36-million project sits along Southwest 95 Avenue near Ocala, beside Hammett Bowen Jr. Elementary.
Liberty features 57 classrooms in three, two-story buildings. An interior courtyard connects the campus, providing security and clear sight lines for administrators. Using a learning community concept, students take joint advantage of the cafeteria, gymnasium, music suite, and media center. The 180,000 square-foot facility also puts administrative offices at the front and center of campus, limiting access from the outside.

At Liberty Middle, we pride ourselves on having a highly motivated, caring and competent faculty and staff. We believe that parental and community involvement in our school are critical to the success of our students and our school. All school administrators maintain an open door policy, and we welcome your input. We strive to be responsive to the needs of both students and parents. Our School Advisory Council is open to all stakeholders, and we encourage you to become involved.
We provide a full range of core academic courses in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Eighth grade students who have shown mastery of content in Language Arts and Mathematics are provided the opportunity to take English I Honors and Algebra 1 Honors during their 8th grade year. Students who take those courses earn high school credit in each course. Along with a full range of Art and Band classes, vocational/career related classes are available in Business, Graphic Arts, TV Production, Medical Skills, and Agriculture.
With a focus on educating all students at Liberty Middle, we accommodate students’ specific learning needs with diversified instructional practices, programs and materials through an inclusionary model. Support Facilitators work with students and teachers to provide accommodations to ensure student success. We provide instruction in speech and language, specific learning disabilities, emotionally handicapping conditions, classes for the intellectually disabled, visually impaired, hearing impaired and gifted students. Students for whom English is not their native language are also supported in an inclusionary setting by paraprofessionals who work directly in classrooms with these students as they work to acquire and become proficient in English.
SCHOOL COLORS AND MASCOT
